To find your Google review link: Go to business.google.com, sign in, select your business, and click "Ask for reviews" (or find it under "Read reviews"). Copy the short link provided. When customers click it, they'll land directly on your review page, ready to write.

Your Google review link is the URL that takes customers directly to your review page. No searching, no scrolling. They tap it and the review box pops up, ready to write.

This guide shows you three ways to find it. Method 1 is fastest (under 2 minutes). Methods 2 and 3 are backups if you run into issues.

Time estimate: 2 minutes

What you need: Access to your Google Business Profile

What You Need Before Starting

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Google Business Profile (if you don't have one, create one at business.google.com)
  • Your business must be verified (unverified listings can't receive reviews)
  • Access to the Google account that manages your listing

Not sure if you're verified? You'll see "Verified" with a checkmark on your profile dashboard.

Method 1: From Your Google Business Profile Dashboard (Fastest)

The 2-Minute Method

Step 1: Go to business.google.com

Open your browser and navigate to business.google.com. Sign in with the Google account that manages your business listing.

Step 2: Select your business

If you manage multiple locations, select the one you need. You'll land on your business dashboard.

Step 3: Find "Ask for reviews" or "Get more reviews"

Look for a card that says "Get more reviews" or "Ask for reviews." This is usually on the home dashboard or under the "Read reviews" section. Click it.

Step 4: Copy your review link

Google will display a short link (looks like: g.page/yourbusiness/review). Click "Copy" or highlight and copy the link.

Step 5: Test the link before using it

Open a new incognito or private browser window. Paste the link and press Enter. Verify it opens directly to your review page with the review popup ready.

Warning

Always test in an incognito window. Regular browser windows may auto-fill your logged-in account information and show a different experience than what customers will see.

If Method 1 Doesn't Work

Sometimes the dashboard option isn't visible, especially for new profiles. Here's the manual method:

Step 1: Find your Place ID

Go to Google's Place ID Finder (developers.google.com/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id). Enter your business name and address. Copy the Place ID (a long string starting with "ChIJ...").

Step 2: Build your review link

Use this format: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID

Replace YOUR_PLACE_ID with your actual Place ID.

Step 3: Test thoroughly

Open an incognito window, paste the link, and confirm the review popup appears for YOUR business (not a similar one nearby).

Method 3: From Google Maps (Mobile Option)

When You're on Your Phone

  1. Open the Google Maps app on your phone
  2. Search for your business name
  3. Tap your business listing when it appears
  4. Look for "Get more reviews" or tap the share icon
  5. Copy the review link provided

Note

The mobile interface varies by device and app version. You may need to scroll down or check under different menu options.

Before sending your link to a single customer, verify it works:

  1. Open an incognito or private browser window
  2. Paste your link
  3. Press Enter

You should see:

  • Your business name and info
  • A star rating selector
  • A text box ready for the review

If you see something else:

  • A general profile page = You have the wrong link
  • A different business = You copied the wrong Place ID
  • An error message = The link is broken or your profile isn't verified

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Mistake #1: Sharing your general business page link

Wrong: google.com/maps/place/Your+Business

Right: Link that opens review popup immediately

Mistake #2: Not testing the link first

Google's system changes. Links can break. Test every few months to make sure it still works.

Mistake #3: Using an outdated link after profile changes

Changed your business name or moved locations? Your old link might not work anymore. Verify it after any major profile changes.

Now that you have it, use it everywhere:

Text messages (usually the highest response rate)

"Hi [Name], thanks for choosing us! If you have 30 seconds, we'd appreciate a Google review: [link]"

Email signatures

Add it to every employee's email footer: "Happy with our service? Leave us a Google review: [link]"

Receipts and invoices

Print the link (and a QR code) on every receipt.

Your website

Add a "Leave us a review" button that links directly to Google.

Pro Tip

The fewer steps between "ask" and "review," the more reviews you'll get. A direct link removes all friction.

You have the link. Now the question is: will you remember to send it to every customer?

MoreStars texts your review link to each customer you choose, or automatically after each sale if you connect Square, Shopify, WooCommerce or Stripe. Customers tap once and land on your Google review page. No staff training. No remembering to ask.
